spring break sick!
so, my poor little boy has the ickies!! we have run a fever off and on since friday and have a yucky cough, a runny nose, and no appetite. he will drink very little and is being quite obstinate about everything. i feel completely helpless and frustrated. i want to just pick him up and hug the sick out of him. if only that would work, sadly i have tried several times, and it doesn't.

funny things . . .
okay, so matt and i have decided to record for perpetuity (matt's word, i was thinking posterity) the funny things that liam has said. so, here are some of them in no particular order:
1. before he could pronounce his "f" sounds they were all "b's" - we had bingers and a boot instead of fingers and a foot.
2. he pairs very specific words together - he wants to watch "the woodybuzz" (toy story), our dogs are not maddie and panzer they are "maddiepanzer" and tigger and pooh are no longer separate characters we have "tiggerpooh"
3. love you sounds more like "love ooh"
4. matt will get liam up on tuesdays and thursdays and when liam doesn't see mommy then it is obvious that "momma seepin" however on monday, wednesday, and friday when momma gets him up and there is no daddy then "daddy work"
5. he also loves "bercessities" - see if you can figure it out!
6. i don't know where he gets it, personally i blame matt and mema and grandad for this one, but if he sees glenn beck the first words out of his mouth are "d'american".
7. oh yeah, he puts "d's " before everything - "d d d juicy" "d d d mickey mouse"
8. if you ask him his name it is "arde' byars" we say the first name and he supplies the rest.
9. he loves to be saved - it is a game of chase and one of us will say "i'm gonna git you" and then he runs away saying "daddy save you" "grandma save you" "momma save you" depending on who he wants to be saved by or who he happens to be running toward.
10. our bed time ritual is probably our favorite - it starts with hugs and kisses, even some for audrey, then we say "love you" and he responds "love ooh", then we say "miss you" and he responds "miss (pause) you", then we say "see you in the morning" and he responds "moorniing" (you have to extend the vowels). then he rolls over and grabs seahorse and sometimes goes to sleep, other times he will play with "tiggerpooh" or blanket.
he is such a blessing and a wonderful little boy. it amazes us how much we can love something so little. audrey is going to have a great big brother!!
i want to put the lens cap on

my kitchen has exploded pink!
i don't know if i have ever seen so much pink in my life! my kitchen is covered in it. this is of course because all of my and audrey's wonderful baby shower presents have made it out of the car, but have not made it to her room. it was such a great shower and i am so excited to go through everything again! of course, i have to go through everything to take tags off and start washing the precious teeny tiny clothes so that they can be ready when she arrives in just a few short weeks (hopefully 4 or 5 to be exact). she is going to be a well dressed little girl. i am so excited to get play dress up with her. i know she is not a doll, but you know what i mean!
i am just excited to finally meet the little one who has given me heartburn, pressed on my bladder, and kicked me in the ribs for so many months. i think she may already be a black belt karate master!! i know she is going to be amazing and i can't wait to see what God has in store for all of us in the coming months and years. it is going to be an adventure.
here come the pictures from the shower this past saturday!!
aren't the letters adorable (painted by cassie bundy) and the baby book is too precious! (done by carrie tungate)
mema and me! aren't we cute!

if you're happy and you know it!
today was liam's valentines chapel and party at "super kids". we went to see their chapel program and i got a great video of liam and his class singing "if you're happy and you know it". he was so great and knew all the motions. i think he takes after his mommy a bit with his dramatic ability and stage personality!! we are looking forward to many more fun and precious performances. so, this is our valentine to everyone out there! enjoy the video.

overwhelemed and slightly freaking out
so, i procrastinate! i know i do, and you would think that knowing that you procrastinate would mean that at times you wouldn't procrastinate. this is not true.
this semester at school is getting the better of me. i am trying to keep up with my English class' reading and prepare interesting and thought-provoking lesson plans. i have also been put in charge of our yearbook. i have never been on a yearbook staff or done anything with yearbooks before. it is not my speciality, but we are doing the best we can. we have also decided to write our own play in drama this semester. what was i thinking!! on top of what is going on right now, i also need to be planning for my maternity leave. aahhh!! i don't know if i am coming or going sometimes.
as for the home-front, audrey's room is still not started. i don't even know where to begin!! we have so much junk that we need to go through and get rid of, but again, i don't even know where to start. so what do i end up doing? crying and looking at it wondering what to do!! i am a mess! i have never been good at these things. i have piles and piles and piles. the pregnancy hormones are not helping the situation.
i really do know that i need to just start somewhere, and i am hoping, this week, that is what i will do. i also love that dear aunt spazzy is coming to visit and will kick my booty into high gear and help me get things going. she is great at this sort of stuff, and the crazy thing is, she actually enjoys it! it helps to have crazy friends!! i also know that Liam's wonderful oma will help with stuff when she get out here. i am so blessed to have such a wonderful mother and friend who will put up with me and my disorganization!!!
i just needed to vent and get it all off my chest!! now i just need to actually get off my keister and get it all done! i think i can! i think i can!! i think i can!! (a little old-school motivation never hurts!)
enough of the poopy stuff. here are some cute pictures of a certain little boy! enjoy!!
enjoying our milk in a basket!
just a cutie

hitting the ground running!
2010 has started and there is no stopping it!

we brought in the new year with some friends at the turner's house, or at least we almost made it to the new year there. we came home a bit early and once the clock struck 12 i was ready for bed. i know, i know, i am getting old and being pregnant doesn't help.
matt and i were blessed to have one more week off of school and we spent it not doing any of things we said we needed to do. audrey's nursery needs to be cleared out, painted, and made ready for her arrival. a task that still has not been started!! i also intended on doing a lot more lesson planning and maternity planning for school! instead of getting things done, we slept, played with liam, and generally rested and relaxed. not too shabby!
with one week of school under our belt we are getting back into the swing of things. i can honestly say that i hate having to set my alarm. it is so much better to wake up to your little boy talking and babbling from his crib. but all in all we can't complain. our schedules allow us so much freedom, now all we have to do is learn to use that time a bit more wisely. i have to admit that even when i know i have to get stuff done, if i see that couch, it is so inviting and so easy to just walk over, flop down, and not get up for an hour or two!!
liam is getting so big and i swear that he grows an inch every time i turn around. he is talking and silly and completely wonderful!! i hope he is ready for little audrey's arrival! he can say her name and sometimes gets that mommy has a baby in her belly, but mostly he is oblivious. he is putting together short sentences and we are constantly amazed at how much he understands and learns everyday. we are so blessed, and we cannot wait to see what our little girl audrey will be like!
okay, so enough with the shmultz and mush! here a few miscellaneous pictures from the last few weeks. liam did get an actual hair cut the other day and it went pretty well, a few tears here and there, but overall he did great. jacob, liam's cousin, had a birthday and a great birthday party at a gymnastics place. i am also throwing in one or two more from our christmas in charleston, just because they are so great!
i hope that this new year finds you healthy, happy, and blessed!
1, 2, 3, weeeee!!!!
we are a little afraid of the scissors!!
i still have my cute curls!!
